My role in the Residency is being a part of College Team, as well as serving on Sunday Production and Kidtown.

I discovered the Residency when my LifeGroup Leader encouraged me to apply, despite the fact that I told him multiple times I'm pretty sure a church does not want ME working for them. However, God has revealed so much to me about leadership even just in the process of becoming a Resident, and has shown me over and over that it is not about what I can do; He can move mountains with my mustard seed. I am especially excited to be a College Resident because the College Ministry at Midtown truly changed my life. The incredible and unique level of community I found in that group has made me so excited to not only help plan the College Events and Retreats, but to lead a LifeGroup as well!

My role in the residency is working with Kids & Families

I came to Midtown Lexington when it first started in the fall of 2015. I had just come back from a one year mission trip and didn't know what my next steps were in life, but I knew that I loved Midtown more than anything and wanted to serve in every way I could. When I heard about the Residency I quickly knew that it was perfect for me! I've always loved kids and it's my favorite thing to be able to help them learn about God's love for them from a young age. I'm excited to be able to grow professionally and learn more of where God has gifted me, and to do all of that while serving our church family!

My role in the Residency is on the Groups Team helping to plan events and classes for LifeGroup leaders and Coaches.

I decided to do Residency because I felt like this was where God was calling me for this year of my life. In my time at Midtown the community I have had and the love I have been shown really made an impact on me and in my walk with Jesus. I love being able to help facilitate that community and love that I have felt over my years at Midtown. My main goal for residency is to discern if the Lord is calling me into full time ministry in the future.

I decided to do Residency because I wanted to make a lasting impact in our city and at USC. When I arrived in Columbia four years ago, I was excited to take advantage of all the fun, wild aspects of going to an SEC school: Greek life, bars, tailgates – you name it. Halfway through, God intervened in a radical way. Since then, He’s continued to replace my selfish desires for ones He’s given me anew. All throughout college, my plan was to graduate, get my PhD, and follow my dream of staying in academia to research biomedical technologies. Now, as I explore a potential calling to vocational ministry (among other available career paths), God is using this year-long experience to mold me into the man I’ve been called to be – by providing the ideal environment in which to grow.
